Armored Fire Alarm Cable
- Use For: Buildings
- Flexible
- Temperature Range: -10° to 190° F
- Insulation:
Outer: Aluminum Armor
Inner: Nylon Plastic, PVC Plastic
Prevent damage to wires for fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, and other critical circuits with this armored cable. Also known as metal clad (MC) cable, the metal armor acts as a conduit to protect the wires inside. The PVC inner insulation resists flames. Its nylon jacket is low smoke, so it can be used without conduit in duct work, under raised floors, and above a drop ceiling. This cable has a ground wire that is not counted in the number of wires.
Hazardous location environmental ratings indicate whether manufacturers have included safety features in products to facilitate their safe use in a hazardous environment. Before selecting a product for a hazardous location, ensure it’s rated for your environment.

Access Control Cable
- Use For: Buildings
- Flexible
- Temperature Range: 32° to 165° F
- Insulation: PVC Plastic
Wire multiple components in your security system using a single cable. This cable bundles together four color-coded cables that correspond to each part of an access point: the card reader, the door contact, the lock, and the exit sign. Each interior cable is labeled with the component it matches. All four interior cables have a layer of foil around them to prevent signal interference from nearby devices. Designated CMP, it has a flame-resistant, low-smoke insulation and can be used without conduit in duct work and above a drop ceiling. It’s also known as plenum cable. It’s rated FT6, so it meets requirements for preventing the spread of flames and smoke based on a timed test with material mounted to a horizontal tray.

Fiber-Optic Cable
- Use For: Data
- Flexible
- Temperature Range: -40° to 155° F
- Insulation: Thermoplastic
Send data between data centers and workstations in fiber-optic networks. The thermoplastic outer insulation on this cable is flame retardant for safe indoor use, and resists water and UV light for outdoor use. Because it works both indoors and outdoors, there’s no need for a transition splice when routing the cable into buildings. Each inner fiber also has a layer of thermoplastic insulation to protect signals and add flexibility. This cable is non-conductive, so grounding or bonding is not required.
Single-mode cable is often used to send data between buildings. It has a small core diameter, which reduces signal loss. It transmits data over longer distances and has a higher bandwidth than multimode cable.
Multimode cable is often used to transmit data over short distances, such as within buildings and local area networks (LANs). It has a large core diameter, so it’s easier to terminate and install than single-mode cable. However, it has lower bandwidth.
ONFP cable is for use in horizontal shafts, such as in ducts and above drop ceilings.
Fiber count refers to the number of optical fibers inside a cable. The higher the count, the more data you can send. You can branch each fiber into its own individual cable if your network demands grow in the future.

Outdoor Wire
The EPDM insulation on this wire won’t become brittle or crack from sunlight, humidity, rain, temperature changes, abrasion from dirt and debris, and other rough outdoor conditions. It meets Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) standards for material quality.
DLO wire carries higher voltages than SC wire, making it the better choice for heavy duty applications. Use it to run power to motors, cranes, and other equipment in shipyards, mines, and oil- and gas-drilling rigs. Also known as diesel locomotive cable, this wire was originally designed to wire trains. An inner layer of chlorinated polyethylene plastic (CPE) gives it increased resistance to chemicals, heat, and flames. It’s also rated RHW-2, so it can be used underground and in wet locations.
All are flame rated, so they meets requirements for preventing the spread of flames based on a timed test. FT4 wire is mounted to a vertical tray during testing.

Duct-Rated HDMI Video Cords
Run high-definition signals through duct, above drop ceilings, and below raised floors without using conduit. These cords are plenum rated, so their insulation resists fire and doesn’t produce smoke. Connect these cords to monitors, TVs, and projectors. Each end has both an HDMI plug and a micro-HDMI socket, so you can connect multiple devices to the cord at once. The plugs are gold plated to resist corrosion and maintain signals over time.
Note: These cords only transmit signals in one direction. Ends are labeled “Source” or “Display” to help you install the cord.

Duct-Rated Ethernet Cords
Also known as plenum-rated cords, these CMP ethernet cords have flame-resistant, low-smoke insulation and can be used without conduit in ductwork and above a drop ceiling. The RJ45 plugs on each end connect to Ethernet equipment, such as computers, IO modules, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Not only do these cords transmit data, but they also power devices that are Power over Ethernet (PoE) compatible. They’re often used with EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and EtherCAT systems.
