    Ball

Made of a hard material, this tumbling media is tough enough to finish steel, stainless steel, and other hard metal parts. Choose the shape that best matches the contours of your part and a size that’s large enough not to get stuck in recesses and holes. You can also mix shapes and sizes to tailor the finish to your part.
For Mirror Finish—Use this media as the final step in your finishing process to create a reflective finish. Ideal for fragile parts, it rubs the surface without removing material.
Cylinder—Best for large, open surfaces such as cube faces, and flat parts with holes such as washers.
Ball—Best for gentle finishing. Balls are less aggressive than other shapes, so they smooth your workpiece without flattening any details.
Wet Tumbling Condition—Use this media with liquid cleaners.

Flexible Cylinder Hones for Steel and Stainless Steel

Image of Product. Twisted Shank. Front orientation. Cylinder Hones. Flexible Cylinder Hones for Steel and Stainless Steel, For Stainless Steel, For Steel, Twisted Shank.

    Twisted Shank

With a silicon carbide abrasive, these hones are the best choice for steel and stainless steel. They’re sharp enough to remove material while leaving a cross-hatch patterned finish that retains lubricant. Hones have abrasive-embedded balls on flexible spindles to press against the inside of cylinders. They perform best on steel and stainless steel but are also a good all-around option for other materials. Hones are slightly oversized for maximum contact with surfaces. When your cylinder ID falls between two sizes, order the larger hone. Use them with portable drills, drill presses, and CNC machines. Hones should be rotating when inserted or removed from cylinders. We recommend using them with honing oil to keep the abrasive surface free of debris.
Twisted Shank—Snip the shank to shorten the length of your cylinder hone.
Grit—Grit is identified by the color on the tip, except 120-grit hones are unmarked.

A hard abrasive removes material from metals such as hardened steel, titanium, and iron. It also leaves a cross-hatch patterned finish to retain lubricant. When your cylinder ID falls between two sizes, order the larger hone. Use with portable drills, drill presses, and CNC machines. Hones should be rotating when inserted into or removed from cylinders. Miniature Detail Polishing Stones

About the size of pencil lead, these stones polish your smallest ribs, slots, and crevices in molds and dies. Don’t underestimate their thin profile—they’re made of bonded ceramic, which makes them tough yet flexible. This means they won’t snap like pencil lead does when you apply pressure during polishing. These stones also resist wear, so they last a long time. Pair them with a holder to polish by hand or with an ultrasonic polisher (both sold separately). Apply a water-soluble or oil-based lubricant to help keep debris from building up on the surface.

Keep stones of different grits on hand to handle every stage of polishing on the smallest ribs, slots, and crevices. These stones are as thin as pencil lead, but stronger than they appear—made of bonded ceramic, they are tough yet flexible. They won’t snap like lead when you apply pressure.
