Air-Permeable Mold-Quality Metapor Aluminum Sheets

Create vacuum-forming and thermoforming molds without vacuum channels or holes. The pores in Metapor aluminum evenly distribute a vacuum and release air and moisture, so bubbles and blemishes won’t form. You need to mill the aluminum to expose the pores.

Aluminum Foam

Large Cell

Injected with air during casting, aluminum foam is even lighter than solid aluminum and has a crater-like appearance. It’s often installed as sound insulation and on the exterior of buildings.

To machine aluminum foam, you’ll need a carbide- or diamond-tipped blade. Diamond blades cut more easily and last longer than carbide ones.

Small Cell—Dense and stiff, this foam is best for high-performance acoustic panels and sturdy, decorative elements. It's _1/6 the weight of solid aluminum.

Large Cell—Our lightest aluminum foam due to its low density. It's _1/3 the weight of small-cell foam and _1/20 the weight of solid aluminum. Since light peeks through the holes, it's often used to build architectural light diffusers.
