The short body on these sensors makes them suitable for tight spaces. Also known as inductive proximity sensors, they remotely sense metallic objects even if they’re obscured by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. Sensing distance is based on the type of material being sensed. The distance listed is for mild steel. They’re often used with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and produce PNP or NPN signal output. To determine the signal output of a sensor you are replacing, use Testers for Proximity and Photoelectric Sensors (not included). All are rated IP67 for protection from temporary submersion.
Also available: If you don’t see the sensor you need, please select 2235N999 and specify manufacturer and manufacturer part number.
Flush Mount—Flush sensors, also known as embeddable or shielded sensors, can be mounted so that the sensor face is level with the surface of any material, including metal. They’re more accurate than projecting sensors at close range and can be mounted close together without causing interference.
Projecting Mount—Projecting sensors, also known as non-embeddable or unshielded sensors, must be mounted with the area around the sensor face free of metal. They have a longer sensing distance than flush sensors with the same diameter.
Plug In—Sensors with a plug connect to cables with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the sensor.

Rated NEMA 6P, 12, IP68 and IP69K, these sensors protect against corrosion and high-pressure, high-temperature washdowns. Also known as capacitive proximity sensors, they remotely sense both metallic and nonmetallic objects but their strength is in sensing materials such as plastic, ceramic, and clear targets. They’re often used with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and produce PNP or NPN signal output. To determine the signal output of a sensor you are replacing, use Testers for Proximity and Photoelectric Sensors (not included). They mount flush with the surface of any material, including metal, and are also known as embeddable or shielded sensors. The 4-pole M12 plug connects to cables with sockets (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the sensor.

Turn the face on these sensors to sense metallic objects from the front, sides, top, or bottom. They’re a good replacement for limit switches with actuators that often break when hit. Also known as inductive proximity sensors, they detect objects even if they’re covered by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. They’re often used in conveyor and bin filling systems, refineries, and mills. Sensing distance is based on the type of material being sensed; the distance listed is for mild steel. LED status indicators on the corners mean you can check your sensor from any angle. All sensors meet American, Canadian, and European safety standards.
You can send PNP or NPN signals from these sensors to programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Use Testers for Proximity and Photoelectric Sensors to determine the signal output of a sensor you’re replacing.
All sensors seal out dust and stand up to some submersion.

Flush Mount—Flush sensors, also known as embeddable and shielded sensors, are more accurate than projecting sensors at close range. They also won’t cause interference when mounted close together. The sensor face mounts evenly with any material, including metal.
Projecting Mount—Projecting sensors, also called non-embeddable and unshielded sensors, sense objects farther away than flush sensors. But, they require the area around the sensor to be free of metal.
Plug In—Sensors with a 4-pole M12 plug connect to cables with a socket (sold separately), so you can quickly connect and disconnect them.
Receptacles—Attach sensors with screw terminals to M12 connectors with a receptacle to convert them to a standard 4-pole M12 plug.

    Relay

    Relay with

    Time Delay

Control and diagnose issues with safety-critical circuits. These relays have a microprocessor that monitors safety components, such as emergency stops and light curtains, and sends a signal to stop the operation if a failure is detected and restart when the issue is resolved. They also help with diagnostic tasks because of their feedback circuit, which allows basic relays to communicate their status back to the safety relay. These relays have a duplicate set of input and output signals, so they’ll still stop the controlled device if one of the inputs fails.
IP20 rated, they have recessed terminals which prevent fingers and other objects from touching live circuits. These relays have been tested to multiple safety standards and can help achieve PL, SIL, or CAT system ratings. They also meet ISO and IEC standards for machine safety.
Mount them to 35 mm DIN rail (also known as DIN 3 Rail) for fast installation.
Time Delay—Relays with delayed safety outputs are often used where power must be maintained after an input signal is received. For example, after a stop button for a machine is pressed, the guard door will stay locked until the machine cycle is finished.

    Sensing Angle

Monitor a wide area around dangerous machinery. If a person or object gets too close, these scanners signal your relay or controller to either trigger a warning or shut down the machinery. For example, they can slow a robotic arm if someone comes within 20 ft., then stop it completely if they come within 10 ft. You can also set these scanners to respond only when they detect objects of a certain size. Since they continuously monitor 275°, they cover a much wider area than safety light curtains.
These scanners have a dedicated safety output for triggering emergency stops, and three inputs/outputs that you can configure. The safety output sends two duplicate signals at the same time—also called redundant signals—so even if one fails, the other will stop your equipment. Wire this output to safety relays or safety terminals on a controller. The inputs/outputs can be configured to set off warnings or adjust the scanner’s behavior. When used as outputs, they can send a signal to flash a light, sound an alarm, or slow a machine. When used as inputs, they can signal the scanner to ignore robot arms or other expected objects, while still scanning for people and unexpected objects.
Download free software onto a computer running Windows to set the monitoring distance, the size of the objects you want to detect, and the function of the inputs/outputs. You can also save up to six different configurations on the scanner itself.
Rated IP65, these scanners are sealed to keep out dust and low-pressure jets of water. They’re UL and C-UL listed, CE marked, and TUV SUD certified, so they meet U.S. and international safety standards. They also meet EN, ISO, and IEC standards for performance and safety.
Mount these scanners to a flat surface using holes on the back.
