Impact Wrench Reamer Sets for Hole Alignment

Image of Product. Side1 orientation. Reamers. Impact Wrench Reamer Sets for Hole Alignment.
Image of Attribute. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Reamers. Impact Wrench Reamer Sets for Hole Alignment.
Driven by the high torque of an impact wrench, the reamers in these sets enlarge holes of various diameters to correct misalignment and overlap faster than with a power drill. The tapered shape fits into narrow holes and makes more contact than straight reamers when removing material. Also known as bridge and car reamers.
    VersaDrive Hex Shank
All VersaDrive tools have the same hex shank, so you need only one chuck (sold separately) to fit them into your impact wrench. This lets you quickly switch from your reamer to a drill bit, tap, or any other cutting tool you need to complete the next job. For jobs that don’t require the torque of an impact tool, you can also fit these reamers directly into a 1/2" chuck on a standard power drill.
Do not use these reamers on holes that were flame or plasma cut.
Spiral Flute—Since these reamers clear chips better than straight flutes, they leave holes with a smoother finish. They're better for holes with breaks in the surface, such as a keyway, because they cut continuously across the breaks instead of moving in and out.
Titanium Nitride (TiN)-Coated Hardened High-Speed Steel—Coated to create less friction than uncoated high-speed steel reamers, these run faster and last twice as long. They’re also hardened for increased wear resistance, making them good for cutting hard metals.
Left-Hand Spiral—These reamers push chips downward as they cut, so they're often used in through holes.

    Reamer Sets

Keep a variety of reamer sizes on hand for finishing holes.
    Round Shank
Image of Product. Front orientation. Reamers. Reamer Sets, Round Shank.
These reamers fit in the chuck of drill presses, turret lathes, and other machine and power tools, making them the most common shank type.
Straight Flute—The most common flute style, these reamers are suitable for a wide range of applications, but not recommended for holes with a keyway or other breaks in the surface.
Spiral Flute—Since these reamers clear chips better than straight flutes, they leave holes with a smoother finish. They're better for holes with breaks in the surface, such as a keyway, because they cut continuously across the breaks instead of moving in and out.
Oversized Fractional—Oversized reamers are larger than the fraction by 0.001" in diameter to create a looser fit than standard sizes. They're typically used in holes where objects such as pins need to stay in place, but still can be easily removed.
Undersized Fractional—Undersized reamers are smaller than the fraction by 0.001" in diameter to create a tighter fit than standard sizes. They're typically used to press-fit a pin, bearing, or other object into a hole.
High-Speed Steel—Durable and wear resistant, these are good for general purpose reaming in most materials.
Cobalt Steel—With better heat and wear resistance than high-speed steel, these reamers run up to 25% faster, last longer, and perform better on hard materials, such as cast iron, hardened steel, titanium, and stainless steel.
Right-Hand Spiral—These reamers pull chips upward as they cut, so they're often used in blind holes.
Jobbers' Length—The same length as jobbers' drill bits, these reamers save setup time when you want to drill and ream on the same machine, such as a drill press or bench lathe.

    Adjustable Size, Square Shank
Image of Product. Front orientation. Reamers. Reamer Sets, Adjustable Size, Square Shank.
Work on a wide range of hole diameters by keeping a set of adjustable reamers on hand. Each reamer can finish multiple hole sizes by moving the adjustable blades within the diameter range. Convenient for maintenance work, these don't require powered tools. They're often used to make precise size adjustments during installation of bearings and bushings.
Move the blades by tightening and loosening the two nuts on the reamer. To measure size, adjust blades to a known size (such as a bushing or ring), or measure across two opposite blades with a micrometer. When the blades become worn, they can be reground or replaced.
Turn these reamers by hand with an adjustable wrench or straight-handle tap wrench (sold separately).
Straight Blade—Use these reamers in straight holes that don't have a keyway or other breaks in the surface.
Angled Blade—These reamers are better than those with straight blades for finishing holes with breaks in the surface, such as a keyway.
High-Speed Steel—Durable and wear resistant, these are good for general purpose reaming in most materials.
Tool Steel—Typically more economical but less durable than high-speed steel, these are for general purpose reaming.

    Reamer Sets for Dowel-Pin Holes

Finish holes to match standard fractional dowel pin sizes. These sets include two reamers for each size within the range listed. One reamer is slightly below the size while the other is slightly above the size, so you can choose how snug your dowel pin will fit in the hole.

    Reamer Sets for Taper-Pin Holes

Used for shaping holes to match the profile of taper pins, these sets include a variety of reamer sizes. Drill a hole that matches the size of the small end of the taper pin you want to install, and then ream to taper and finish the hole.

Impact Wrench Step Reamer Drill Bit Sets

Image of Product. Side1 orientation. Reamer Drill Bits. Impact Wrench Step Reamer Drill Bit Sets.
Drill, enlarge, and finish a wide range of hole sizes in seconds with just three bits. Made with an oversized shank and hardened high-speed steel, the bits in these sets are built to handle the high torque of your impact wrench without snapping. A built-in pilot has a stepped tip that bites material immediately, centers the tool, and prevents slipping. The steps on the bit have progressively larger diameters—the deeper you drill, the bigger the hole. Count the steps as you drill to achieve the proper size. Like a reamer, these bits leave a smooth, precise hole at each step. If you’re drilling to the bit’s maximum diameter, a safety collar stops the bit at that size. Since these bits deburr as they cut, they’re often used for thin workpieces, such as sheet metal and plastic panels.
You’ll need a VersaDrive chuck (sold separately) to install these bits into your impact wrench. You can also get chucks for impact drivers and magnetic-base drills (both sold separately). For jobs that don’t require the torque of an impact tool, you can fit these bits directly into a 1/2" chuck on a standard power drill.

With everything but the impact wrench, these sets are the fastest way to prepare holes with a hand tool. They include a selection of cutting tools and a chuck that lets you swap them in and out of your impact wrench. Made with hardened steel, the cutting tools are built to handle the high torque of the wrench without snapping, even in hard metals. This also means the bits cut holes two times faster than with a power drill, and the taps thread holes 15 times faster than with a tap wrench. The rapid hammering breaks and clears chips as you work to prevent jams. Since your wrench absorbs kickback, it won’t fight you if a cutting tool snags, reducing wrist strain and fatigue over long jobs.
The chucks hold any tool with a VersaDrive hex shank—including countersinks and extractors—so just one chuck and wrench handle any cutting task.
13 Pieces—Includes a range of drill bits, taps, and step reamers. All cutting tools are coated with titanium nitride (TiN) to hold up at higher speeds and last longer than uncoated and oxide-coated bits, especially on tough materials like hardened steel and nickel.
28 Pieces—Includes drill bits, taps, and step reamers plus reamers for hole alignment, drill taps, and hollow core cutters to further speed up your jobs. Use the drill taps to cut threaded holes in one smooth, continuous pass. The reamers enlarge holes and correct misalignment or overlap. The hollow-core cutters attach directly to your power drill, so you can form burr-free holes without a magnetic-base drill. Unlike drill bits, they cut only on the periphery of the hole and produce a solid slug, so they’re faster and leave a smoother edge. Two additional chucks let you use all these cutting tools with an impact driver and magnetic-base drill, too.
