    Reamer Sets

    Round Shank

    These reamers fit in the chuck of drill presses, turret lathes, and other machine and power tools, making them the most common shank type.

    Reamers for Hole Alignment

    Enlarge holes to correct misalignment and overlap. Misaligned holes often have a narrow entry, so the tapered shape is easier to insert and makes more contact to remove the overlapping material. These are also known as bridge and car reamers.

    Carbide—For the highest level of accuracy when cutting hard materials, these are our hardest, strongest, and most wear-resistant reamers. They're used on materials such as iron, hardened steel, steel alloys, and plastic. Their hardness means they are brittle, so a highly rigid setup, such as a CNC machine, is necessary to prevent the reamer from breaking.
    Carbide-Tipped Tool Steel—Since these reamers retain a sharper, harder edge at higher temperatures than high-speed steel and cobalt steel, they can be used on hard materials, such as iron, hardened steel, and steel alloys. They aren't as brittle as solid carbide reamers, so they can be used in less rigid setups, such as a hand-held drill.

The tapered shape fits into narrow holes and makes more contact than straight reamers when removing material. Also known as bridge and car reamers.
    VersaDrive Hex Shank
    All VersaDrive tools have the same hex shank, so you need only one chuck (sold separately) to fit them into your impact wrench. This lets you quickly switch from your reamer to a drill bit, tap, or any other cutting tool you need to complete the next job. For jobs that don’t require the torque of an impact tool, you can also fit these reamers directly into a 1/2" chuck on a standard power drill.
    Do not use these reamers on holes that were flame or plasma cut.
    Spiral Flute—Since these reamers clear chips better than straight flutes, they leave holes with a smoother finish. They're better for holes with breaks in the surface, such as a keyway, because they cut continuously across the breaks instead of moving in and out.
    Titanium Nitride (TiN)-Coated Hardened High-Speed Steel—Coated to create less friction than uncoated high-speed steel reamers, these run faster and last twice as long. They’re also hardened for increased wear resistance, making them good for cutting hard metals.

    Quick-Change

    Strong-Hold

    These chucks mount directly onto the square drive of your impact wrench. They work with any tool with a VersaDrive hex shank, so you don’t need to swap chucks to use drill bits, taps, and other tools.
    While impact wrenches give you the most torque of any power tool, we also have chucks for impact drivers and magnetic-base drills if you want to use other tools.
    Quick-Change Pull-Back Tool Release—Require just one hand to load. Push your tool in the chuck until you hear the ball detents click into place. To remove your tool, pull back the collar.
    Strong-Hold Push-Forward Tool Release—Hold cutting tools more securely than quick-change chucks. To insert and remove cutting tools, you must push a collar forward. Since impact force drives your cutting tool the opposite way, it can’t come loose from the chuck while you work.
    Manganese Phosphate-Coated Steel—The coating on these chucks prevents rust.
