Retaining Compounds for Close-Fitting Parts

Stick

Fill gaps up to 0.01" to secure unthreaded cylindrical metal parts such as shafts, bearings, and press-fit assemblies. These retaining compounds begin to harden once coated surfaces are pressed together, blocking exposure to air.

Primer (sold separately) cleans the surface and decreases the time to reach full strength. It is recommended when working with aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium; black-oxide finishes, and cadmium and zinc coatings.

Drip-Free Non-Hardening Thread Sealants

Apply this thread sealant stick without a mess. Often used in high-vibration applications that could cause standard thread sealants to fail, this sealant never fully hardens and remains pliable enough to self-heal and stop leaks before they start. It has low locking strength, so it can be adjusted without tools.

Drip-Free Thread Sealants with PTFE

Apply this thread sealant stick without a mess. It contains PTFE, which provides a slippery surface that keeps threads from binding. Since the sealant is anaerobic, it doesn’t begin to harden until coated surfaces are threaded together, blocking exposure to air. It has low locking strength, so it prevents threads from loosening due to vibration and can be adjusted without tools. It meets NSF/ANSI 61 for use with drinking water.
