Fit for quick assembly and disassembly. A tab locks them into place when you have no groove, or you have one that isn't precisely machined. Just lift the tab to remove. They're commonly used on brake hoses and in other hydraulic applications.
Phosphate-Coated Carbon Steel—The most popular choice, these are strong and wear resistant. Their finish adds some corrosion resistance, but only to minimal dampness.
