Keep different sizes of twist-resistant rivet nuts and their installation tools on hand for quick repairs. The ribbed body digs into material so nuts won't spin out when tightening or loosening screws.
To install, first thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel. Then, insert the nut into a drilled hole and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.

Keep different sizes of rivet nuts on hand to add threads to material in confined spaces. At installation, the compact body of these nuts collapses into itself and presses slightly outward, creating snug-fitting threads that are half the length of a standard nut but just as strong.
To install, thread the nut onto the mandrel, place it into a hole, push down, and turn the installation tool's T-handle.
Tin Zinc-Plated Steel—Twice as strong as aluminum rivet nuts. The plating resists rust and helps the nut collapse without friction during installation. It's also nontoxic, unlike cadmium plating.
