    Twist-Resistant Rivet Nuts

Image of Product. Front orientation. Rivet Nuts. Twist-Resistant Rivet Nuts.
Image of Attribute. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Rivet Nuts. Twist-Resistant Rivet Nuts.
Ideal for parts that require frequent maintenance or disassembly, these rivet nuts won't spin out when you tighten or loosen a screw. Their ribbed body digs into material to prevent twisting.
Install these nuts in a drilled or punched round hole using a rivet nut tool. Thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel, then grip the tool body with a wrench as you twist the tightening nut with a ratchet. Choose an air- or battery-powered tool for fast installation or to easily switch between many different nut sizes. Length is measured from under the flange.
Zinc-Yellow-Chromate-Plated Steel—A step up from plain steel, the plating withstands occasional exposure to moisture.
Lightweight Aluminum—At one-third the weight of steel or brass, use these nuts in applications with strict weight limits, such as robotics and aerospace parts. They resist rust almost as well as stainless steel but aren't as strong.
18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these nuts resist rust and mild chemicals.

Our most twist-resistant rivet nuts that are also strong enough for structural frames in heavy machinery, such as forklifts. They have hex-shaped bodies with flat sides to keep them locked firmly in place as you tighten or loosen screws. The thick walls distribute heavy loads better than standard walls.
Install these nuts in a hex-shaped punched hole with a rivet nut tool. Thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel, then grip the tool body with a wrench as you twist the tightening nut with a ratchet. Choose an air- or battery-powered tool for fast installation or to easily switch between many different nut sizes. Length is measured from under the flange.

Use two hands to maximize leverage when installing rivet nuts. These tools require a mandrel and nosepiece. To use, thread the nut onto the mandrel, insert the nut into a drilled hole, and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.
High Leverage—High-leverage tools are about 50% longer than standard tools, giving you extra power for installing rivet nuts. They’re also compatible with rivet studs. Adjust the stroke length to match the size of your rivet nut and workpiece. Unlike tools with a fixed stroke length, you don’t need to manually control the amount of force. You can squeeze the handles all the way shut to install the rivet nut without damaging the rivet or deforming your material. These tools include a mandrel and nosepiece for 1/4"-20 rivet nuts.
Knob Removal—Tools with knob removal have a spin-to-reverse knob to quickly unthread the mandrel from the installed nut.
Plunger Removal—Tools with plunger removal have a quick-acting, pull-to-remove plunger that unthreads the mandrel from the installed nut.

Grip soft material tightly while holding up to heavy duty use. The ribbed body and wedges dig into aluminum and composite panels so nuts won't spin out when tightening and loosening screws. The wedges won't penetrate harder metals, such as steel. These nuts also have thick walls that distribute heavy loads better than standard walls, so they're strong enough for the aluminum frames in trucks.
Install these nuts in a drilled or punched round hole using a rivet nut tool. Choose an air- or battery-powered tool for faster installation or to install many different nut sizes. Length is measured from under the flange.

Add threads to sheet metal and other thin surfaces inaccessible from behind. When installed, the body of these nuts collapses onto the back side of material to form a flange that holds the nut in place. Less expensive than press-fit nuts, they also avoid the spatter mess of weld nuts. They're often used in control box panels and electronic housings, as well as for quick repairs to assembled parts.

Install blind rivets and rivet nuts with the same tool. These sets come with the nosepieces and mandrels needed to install the most common sizes of blind rivets and rivet nuts. Additional mandrels and nosepieces are sold separately. Choose the attachment that matches your rivet diameter or nut thread size.
To install a rivet, insert the mandrel into the nosepiece of the tool. Place the rivet in the material and squeeze the handles. The tool pulls the mandrel through the rivet body to tighten it on both sides of the material, then breaks off the excess mandrel. To install a rivet nut, thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel, insert the nut into a drilled hole, and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.

Keep screws locked in place with nuts that won't budge. Irregularly shaped threads stop screws from loosening under vibration and the hex-shaped body holds the nut in place when turning screws. With thick walls that distribute heavy loads better than standard walls, these nuts are strong enough for heavy machinery such as forklifts. The screw-locking threads require high torque, so you may need an impact wrench to remove screws.
Install these nuts in a drilled or punched round hole using a rivet nut tool. Choose an air- or battery-powered tool for faster installation or to install many different nut sizes. Length is measured from under the flange.

Confirm rivet nuts are installed just right—the indicator on these tools ensures you’ve applied the right amount of force. Unlike fixed-stroke tools, you don’t need to manually control the amount of force you apply. Just set your stroke length based on your rivet nut size and workpiece thickness, then squeeze the handles all the way shut to install. The indicator verifies you’ve compressed the nut properly. These tools are 50% longer than standard lever-style tools, giving you extra leverage for installation.
Mandrel and nosepiece sets are required and sold separately. Thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel and insert the nut into a drilled hole, then squeeze the handles to secure the nut.
Knob Removal—Tools with knob removal install rivet-type studs and smooth and ribbed body rivet nuts. They have a spin-to-reverse knob to quickly unthread the mandrel from the installed nut.
Plunger Removal—Tools with plunger removal install smooth and ribbed body rivet nuts. They have a quick-acting, pull-to-remove plunger that unthreads the mandrel from the installed nut.

Tight-Space Rivet Nut Assortments with Installation Tools

Image of Product. Front orientation. Rivet Nuts. Tight-Space Rivet Nut Assortments with Installation Tools.
Keep different sizes of rivet nuts on hand to add threads to material in confined spaces. At installation, the compact body of these nuts collapses into itself and presses slightly outward, creating snug-fitting threads that are half the length of a standard nut but just as strong.
To install, thread the nut onto the mandrel, place it into a hole, push down, and turn the installation tool's T-handle.
Tin Zinc-Plated Steel—Twice as strong as aluminum rivet nuts. The plating resists rust and helps the nut collapse without friction during installation. It's also nontoxic, unlike cadmium plating.

Add threads to sheet metal and panels in confined spaces with limited backside clearance. At installation, these compact nuts collapse into themselves and press slightly outward, creating snug-fitting threads half the length of a standard nut but just as strong. With a thin top flange that creates a near-flush fit, they're ideal for light duty fastening in small enclosures or housings.
Install these nuts using a hand- or power-driven rivet nut tool. In thick material, drill or punch a slightly larger hole to ensure the nut body expands uniformly.
Tin Zinc-Plated Steel—Twice as strong as aluminum rivet nuts. The plating resists rust and helps the nut collapse without friction during installation. It's also nontoxic, unlike cadmium plating.
Tin Zinc-Plated Aluminum—The plating resists rust and helps the nut collapse without friction during installation. It's also nontoxic, unlike cadmium plating.
Tin-Plated 18-8 Stainless Steel—The choice for wet and outdoor environments, these nuts resist rust and mild chemicals. The tin plating helps the nut collapse without friction during installation.

Shield threads from moisture, vibration, and accidental electrical contact. The neoprene rubber coating on these brass nuts seals out water in marine and other wet environments. It also insulates against moving parts, such as shaky motors, that could cause excessive noise or damage fragile panels. The nut collapses as you thread in a screw, so you don't need any special installation tools. Also known as well nuts.

    Air-Powered Rivet Nut Tools

Image of Product. Front orientation. Rivet Nut Tools. Air-Powered Rivet Nut Tools.
Install any size or style of rivet nut with a single tool. When you connect these tools to your compressed air line, the hydraulic fluid inside is pressurized, which generates the force needed to collapse a rivet nut. They’re also known as hydropneumatic rivet nut tools. Rather than rotating the rivet nut, like single-size rivet nut tools, these tools pull it straight back. This means you can adjust the pulling force or stroke depth to match your application. Set the pulling force if you’re installing rivet nuts into workpieces with different thicknesses. Set the stroke depth to install rivet nuts in soft or fragile materials without cracking or warping the surface.
    75 to 100 psi—1/4 NPT Air Connection
7,190 lbf Pulling Force—Use tools with a 7,190 lbf. pulling force to install rivet nuts made from hard materials, such as titanium. They’re also good for large nut sizes. However, they take about three times longer to install a nut than tools with a 3,960 lbf. pulling force.

Grip soft material tightly. The ribbed body and wedges dig into aluminum and composite panels so nuts won't spin out when tightening and loosening screws. However, the wedges won't penetrate harder metals like steel.

Zinc-Plated Steel—A step up from plain steel, the plating withstands occasional exposure to moisture.
Lightweight Aluminum—At one-third the weight of steel or brass, use these nuts in applications with strict weight limits, such as robotics and aerospace parts. They resist rust almost as well as stainless steel but aren't as strong.

Install any size rivet nuts in tight spaces or out in the field—no air hose or cord required. They include nosepiece assemblies to install M4, M5, M6, and M8 rivet nuts (additional mandrels and nosepieces sold separately). They run on the DeWalt rechargeable battery that's already in your toolkit. As you swap between tasks, use the touchscreen to set the exact force and stroke length you need to get the job done. These tools also keep count of how many rivet nuts you install, helping you keep track of high-volume work as you go. The cushioned grip minimizes fatigue for comfortable, repeated use, and the LED light illuminates dim areas and dark surfaces.
These tools allow you to set either pulling force or stroke depth—whichever best suits your application. Set pulling force to install rivet nuts in materials of varying thickness without having to adjust the tool. Set stroke depth to prevent warping and cracking when installing rivet nuts in fragile or soft materials.
Thread your rivet nut onto the included mandrel and press the trigger to spin it on. To install it, place the nut into the material and press once again. Spin the mandrel off by pressing one more time.

Seal out contaminants and resist torque. These rivet nuts have a PVC foam seal beneath the flange so liquids and gases won't leak between the nut and surrounding material. The ribbed body keeps them from spinning out, even if you frequently tighten or loosen screws.
Install these nuts in a drilled or punched round hole using a rivet nut tool. Choose an air- or battery-powered tool for faster installation or to install many different nut sizes. Length is measured from under the flange.
Lightweight Aluminum—At one-third the weight of steel or brass, use these nuts in applications with strict weight limits, such as robotics and aerospace parts. They resist rust almost as well as stainless steel but aren't as strong.

Add these studs to thin material when you only have access to one side. An alternative to weld and press-fit studs, they have a knurled body that resists loosening from vibration. Install them in a drilled hole with a lever-style rivet nut tool. Use with Grade 5 nuts.

Tight-Space Rivet Nuts with Installation Tools

Image of Product. Front orientation. Rivet Nuts. Tight-Space Rivet Nuts with Installation Tools.
Everything you need to add threads to sheet metal and panels in confined spaces. At installation, these compact nuts collapse into themselves and press slightly outward, creating snug-fitting threads half the length of a standard nut but just as strong. These kits also include mandrels and an installation tool.
To install, thread the nut onto the mandrel, place it into a hole, push down, and turn the tool's T-handle.
Tin Zinc-Plated Steel—Twice as strong as aluminum rivet nuts. The plating resists rust and helps the nut collapse without friction during installation. It's also nontoxic, unlike cadmium plating.

These rivet nuts install with the twist of a screw and seal out moisture. Their narrow legs collapse into a flange that holds the nut in place without crushing your material. The PVC-coated flange prevents water and other liquids from seeping through holes and corroding threads or damaging internal components. Use a power-driven rivet nut tool for fast installation. Also known as jack nuts.

Use compressed air to install rivet nuts with less effort than manual tools. Tailored to specific thread sizes, these tools rotate a rivet nut with the exact force needed to collapse it onto your workpiece. They’re smaller and lighter than other powered rivet nut tools, so you can squeeze them into tighter spaces. However, they generate less force, so they’re not recommended for installing nuts into thick materials.
Angle Grip—Angle grip tools fit into tighter spaces than pistol grip tools.
