Ideal for parts that require frequent maintenance or disassembly, these rivet nuts won't spin out when you tighten or loosen a screw. Their ribbed body digs into material to prevent twisting.
Install these nuts in a drilled or punched round hole using a rivet nut tool. Thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel, then grip the tool body with a wrench as you twist the tightening nut with a ratchet. Choose an air- or battery-powered tool for fast installation or to easily switch between many different nut sizes. Length is measured from under the flange.

Our most twist-resistant rivet nuts that are also strong enough for structural frames in heavy machinery, such as forklifts. They have hex-shaped bodies with flat sides to keep them locked firmly in place as you tighten or loosen screws. The thick walls distribute heavy loads better than standard walls.

Use two hands to maximize leverage when installing rivet nuts. These tools require a mandrel and nosepiece. To use, thread the nut onto the mandrel, insert the nut into a drilled hole, and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.
High Leverage—High-leverage tools are about 50% longer than standard tools, giving you extra power for installing rivet nuts. They’re also compatible with rivet studs. Adjust the stroke length to match the size of your rivet nut and workpiece. Unlike tools with a fixed stroke length, you don’t need to manually control the amount of force. You can squeeze the handles all the way shut to install the rivet nut without damaging the rivet or deforming your material. These tools include a mandrel and nosepiece for 1/4"-20 rivet nuts.
Knob Removal—Tools with knob removal have a spin-to-reverse knob to quickly unthread the mandrel from the installed nut.

Rivet Nuts For Sandwich Panels

Assembled |
Add reusable threads to sandwich panels in insulated walls and clean rooms. These two-piece fasteners consist of a flanged rivet nut and a threaded insert that, when paired with an adhesive, grip the top, core, and bottom of the panel. Combined with their ribbed body that digs into material to resist spin out, these nuts won't budge when turning screws.
To install, insert the rivet nut into a drilled hole and collapse it against the backside of the panel. Then, use a mixing nozzle and dispensing gun (both sold separately) to inject structural adhesive through the rivet nut onto the bottom and core of your panel. Finally, thread the insert into the rivet nut with a slotted screwdriver. The closed end of the insert keeps adhesive from leaking into the threads.

Install blind rivets and rivet nuts with the same tool. These sets come with the nosepieces and mandrels needed to install the most common sizes of blind rivets and rivet nuts. Additional mandrels and nosepieces are sold separately. Choose the attachment that matches your rivet diameter or nut thread size.
To install a rivet, insert the mandrel into the nosepiece of the tool. Place the rivet in the material and squeeze the handles. The tool pulls the mandrel through the rivet body to tighten it on both sides of the material, then breaks off the excess mandrel. To install a rivet nut, thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel, insert the nut into a drilled hole, and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.

Add threads to sheet metal and other thin surfaces inaccessible from behind. When installed, the body of these nuts collapses onto the back side of material to form a flange that holds the nut in place. Install any size or style of rivet nut with a single tool. When you connect these tools to your compressed air line, the hydraulic fluid inside is pressurized, which generates the force needed to collapse a rivet nut. They’re also known as hydropneumatic rivet nut tools. Rather than rotating the rivet nut, like single-size rivet nut tools, these tools pull it straight back. This means you can adjust the pulling force or stroke depth to match your application. Set the pulling force if you’re installing rivet nuts into workpieces with different thicknesses. Set the stroke depth to install rivet nuts in soft or fragile materials without cracking or warping the surface.

Install any size rivet nuts in tight spaces or out in the field—no air hose or cord required. They include nosepiece assemblies to install M4, M5, M6, and M8 rivet nuts (additional mandrels and nosepieces sold separately). They run on the DeWalt rechargeable battery that's already in your toolkit. As you swap between tasks, use the touchscreen to set the exact force and stroke length you need to get the job done. These tools also keep count of how many rivet nuts you install, helping you keep track of high-volume work as you go. The cushioned grip minimizes fatigue for comfortable, repeated use, and the LED light illuminates dim areas and dark surfaces.
These tools allow you to set either pulling force or stroke depth—whichever best suits your application. Set pulling force to install rivet nuts in materials of varying thickness without having to adjust the tool. Set stroke depth to prevent warping and cracking when installing rivet nuts in fragile or soft materials.
Thread your rivet nut onto the included mandrel and press the trigger to spin it on. To install it, place the nut into the material and press once again. Spin the mandrel off by pressing one more time.

At installation, these compact nuts collapse into themselves and press slightly outward, creating snug-fitting threads half the length of a standard nut but just as strong. With a thin top flange that creates a near-flush fit, they're ideal for light duty fastening in small enclosures or housings.
Install these nuts using a hand- or power-driven rivet nut tool. In thick material, drill or punch a slightly larger hole to ensure the nut body expands uniformly.
Tin Zinc-Plated Steel—Twice as strong as aluminum rivet nuts. The plating resists rust and helps the nut collapse without friction during installation. It's also nontoxic, unlike cadmium plating.
