Built for assembly lines and frequent maintenance, these tools install blind rivets faster than battery-powered tools. They’re powered by compressed air, so you can work continuously without stopping to charge the tool or swap batteries. A mandrel collector catches spent mandrels to keep them off the floor. These tools have changeable nosepieces—use the nosepiece that matches your rivet's diameter.

To install a rivet, insert the mandrel into the nosepiece of the tool. Place the rivet in the material and pull the trigger. The tool pulls the mandrel through the rivet's body, creating a secure hold on both sides of the material, and breaks off the excess mandrel.

Air-Powered Tools for High-Strength Blind Rivets

With a high force-to-weight ratio, these tools are the muscle you need to install structural high-strength rivets in large volume assembly jobs. They can also be used to install standard rivets with minimal effort. These tools are more durable than standard air-powered tools and install rivets faster than battery-powered tools. Since they connect to an air source, there’s no need to stop your work to charge or change out a battery. A mandrel collector catches spent mandrels to keep them off the floor. The higher the pull capacity, the larger the rivet diameter these tools can install.

All have changeable nosepieces—use the nosepiece that matches your rivet's diameter. To install a rivet, insert the mandrel into the nosepiece of the tool. Also known as zip guns, these air hammers require a rivet setter and a bucking bar (each sold separately) to install solid rivets. Choose a rivet setter that matches the rivet's head style. As the tool strikes the rivet head, the back side of the rivet is hammered against the bucking bar, deforming the body and fastening your material. They can also be used as a chiseling air hammer when paired with chiseling bits. Stroke length determines the hammering power. The longer the stroke, the greater the power.

Air-Powered Rivet Nut Tools

Install any size or style of rivet nut with a single tool. When you connect these tools to your compressed air line, the hydraulic fluid inside is pressurized, which generates the force needed to collapse a rivet nut. They’re also known as hydropneumatic rivet nut tools. Rather than rotating the rivet nut, like single-size rivet nut tools, these tools pull it straight back. This means you can adjust the pulling force or stroke depth to match your application. Set the pulling force if you’re installing rivet nuts into workpieces with different thicknesses. Set the stroke depth to install rivet nuts in soft or fragile materials without cracking or warping the surface.

75 to 100 psi—1/4 NPT Air Connection

7,190 lbf Pulling Force—Use tools with a 7,190 lbf. pulling force to install rivet nuts made from hard materials, such as titanium. They’re also good for large nut sizes. However, they take about three times longer to install a nut than tools with a 3,960 lbf. pulling force.

Install solid rivets with the tools in these kits. They include an air-powered hammer (also known as a zip gun), rivet setters, and a bucking bar. Slide a rivet setter into the hammer and place the bucking bar against the back side of your material. When you strike the rivet head, the back of the rivet is flattened against the bucking bar to fasten your material. Bench-Mount Air-Powered Squeeze Tools for Solid Rivets

With a bench or cart to keep them steady, these tools install solid rivets along edges more consistently than portable squeeze tools. They close with the press of a foot pedal, so you can use both hands to feed a workpiece through the jaws. These tools are also known as alligator squeezers.

A die set (sold separately) is required and must be attached to the tool jaws to properly form rivets during installation. Choose a die set that matches the rivet's head style.

Shaver Tools

Grind down the heads of installed rivets for a smooth, even surface. These shavers can be set in 0.001" increments for precise control over how much material you remove. They come with a stabilizer and a skirt for ½" rivet heads (additional sizes sold separately). The stabilizer has two arms that press against the surface of your material to steady the tool and keep you from grinding at an angle.
