Create threads in hard-to-work areas—where you can’t reach the back of a workpiece, or material is too thin to be tapped. For a strong grip, these rivet-mount nuts have distorted threads that increase friction with bolts. Because they mount with two rivets, they won’t spin when you’re tightening screws. However, these nuts do move inside their retainers, which lets you install bolts at a slight angle; use them to align with off-center parts. All meet military guidelines for dimensions and material.
Cadmium-Plated Carbon Steel and Cadmium-Plated Steel—Cadmium-plated nuts resist corrosion in industrial and saltwater environments, although they will lose their corrosion resistance over 450° F. The cadmium plating also adds lubricity, making these nuts easy to install.
A286 Stainless Steel—A286 stainless steel nuts are corrosion resistant.
Silver-Plated A286 Stainless Steel—Silver-plated stainless steel nuts withstand temperatures up to 800° F. The silver plating also adds lubricity and prevents seizing caused by friction between nuts and bolts.
Lubricated—Lubricated nuts thread onto bolts smoothly.

Removal Tools for Locking-Collar Rivets

Remove locking-collar rivets, also called Magna-Grip lockbolts, without damaging your workpiece. Instead of breaking off the collar with a chisel, these tools attach to your drill to mill off the collar. All that's left to do is to drive the pin out with a hammer.
For a complete removal tool, you'll need a cutter and a stop (both sold separately).

Install blind rivets and rivet nuts with the same tool. These sets come with the nosepieces and mandrels needed to install the most common sizes of blind rivets and rivet nuts. Additional mandrels and nosepieces are sold separately. Choose the attachment that matches your rivet diameter or nut thread size.
To install a rivet, insert the mandrel into the nosepiece of the tool. Place the rivet in the material and squeeze the handles. The tool pulls the mandrel through the rivet body to tighten it on both sides of the material, then breaks off the excess mandrel. To install a rivet nut, thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel, insert the nut into a drilled hole, and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.

Twist-Resistant Rivet Nuts

Ideal for parts that require frequent maintenance or disassembly, these rivet nuts won't spin out when you tighten or loosen a screw. Their ribbed body digs into material to prevent twisting.
Install these nuts in a drilled or punched round hole using a rivet nut tool. Thread the rivet nut onto the mandrel, then grip the tool body with a wrench as you twist the tightening nut with a ratchet. Choose an air- or battery-powered tool for fast installation or to easily switch between many different nut sizes. Length is measured from under the flange.
Zinc-Yellow-Chromate-Plated Steel—A step up from plain steel, the plating withstands occasional exposure to moisture.

Use two hands to maximize leverage when installing rivet nuts. These tools require a mandrel and nosepiece. To use, thread the nut onto the mandrel, insert the nut into a drilled hole, and squeeze the handles to secure the nut.
High Leverage—High-leverage tools are about 50% longer than standard tools, giving you extra power for installing rivet nuts. They’re also compatible with rivet studs. Adjust the stroke length to match the size of your rivet nut and workpiece. Unlike tools with a fixed stroke length, you don’t need to manually control the amount of force. Air-Powered Rivet Nut Tools

Install any size or style of rivet nut with a single tool. When you connect these tools to your compressed air line, the hydraulic fluid inside is pressurized, which generates the force needed to collapse a rivet nut. They’re also known as hydropneumatic rivet nut tools. Rather than rotating the rivet nut, like single-size rivet nut tools, these tools pull it straight back. This means you can adjust the pulling force or stroke depth to match your application. Set the pulling force if you’re installing rivet nuts into workpieces with different thicknesses. Add threads to sheet metal and panels in confined spaces with limited backside clearance. At installation, these compact nuts collapse into themselves and press slightly outward, creating snug-fitting threads half the length of a standard nut but just as strong. With a thin top flange that creates a near-flush fit, they're ideal for light duty fastening in small enclosures or housings.
Install these nuts using a hand- or power-driven rivet nut tool. In thick material, drill or punch a slightly larger hole to ensure the nut body expands uniformly.

Grind down the heads of installed rivets for a smooth, even surface. These shavers can be set in 0.001" increments for precise control over how much material you remove. They come with a stabilizer and a skirt for ½" rivet heads (additional sizes sold separately). The stabilizer has two arms that press against the surface of your material to steady the tool and keep you from grinding at an angle.

Use compressed air to install rivet nuts with less effort than manual tools. Tailored to specific thread sizes, these tools rotate a rivet nut with the exact force needed to collapse it onto your workpiece. They’re smaller and lighter than other powered rivet nut tools, so you can squeeze them into tighter spaces. However, they generate less force, so they’re not recommended for installing nuts into thick materials.
