Often used for thermal insulation, this thread withstands temperatures of 1000° F or more. It stands up to chemicals as well as heat, making it great for sewing filter bags and sealing materials. The thread’s coating reduces friction, so it glides smoothly during sewing.
Fiberglass—More economical than quartz, this thread withstands temperatures up to 1000° F. It also offers good chemical resistance but is more susceptible to degradation from acids than quartz.
Quartz—Choose this thread for extreme temperatures or applications that require excellent chemical resistance.
