Electric Sheet Sanders

With rapid back and forth movements in a straight line, these sanders remove more material than random orbital sheet sanders. Adjust their speed to fit your task. Higher speeds remove material quickly; lower speeds prevent damage and burns to delicate material. Rectangular in shape, they reach into corners and fit along edges better than disc sanders. A dust collection system draws dust through the sanding pad and into a collection canister. This keeps your work surface clean and reduces the amount of dust flying in the air. These sanders may leave scratches on your surface because they're moving so quickly. You can remove those scratches by sanding with a finer grit. Sanding sheets are sold separately.

Swirl-Free Air-Powered Sheet Sanders

Leave your material with a more uniform finish than if you used a standard sheet sander. Also known as random orbital sanders, these sanders move in small irregular circles. No single part of the abrasive follows the same path twice, resulting in a swirl-free finish. Because they are rectangular, they reach into corners and fit along edges better than disc sanders. Sanding sheets are sold separately.

Cordless Sheet Sanders

Battery powered for portability, these sheet sanders handle quick jobs where you don’t have access to an air or electric power source. Shaped for rectangular sanding sheets, they reach into corners and sand edges better than disc sanders. They move in small circles for a lighter sand than random orbital sanders and don’t vibrate much, so you can use them on delicate workpieces. However, because they move in consistent circles, they may leave light swirl marks on your surface. The variable-speed motor lets you set the speed for any task, from heavy material removal to delicate surface sanding.

These sanders have a built-in vacuum to remove dust from the air and surface of the sanding sheet to extend its life. All include a dust collection bag. To make your sanding sheet compatible with the vacuum holes of the sander, use the included sandpaper punch.

Style E

Sand by hand with comfort and control. Cut sanding sheets and rolls (both sold separately) to size to fit these blocks. For additional abrasive materials and grits, see our full offering of sanding sheets and sanding rolls.

Style A—Style A blocks have both a flat side and a curved side for sanding. The flat side is best for flat surfaces, and the curved side is good for curves and contours.

Style B—Style B blocks have a handle that adjusts 360°—turn it and it clicks into whatever position you need. The sanding sheet wraps around the ends of the block, so these sanders are good for reaching into corners and tight spaces.

Style C—Style C blocks have a cushioned, ergonomic grip for comfort while you sand.

Style D—Style D blocks are extra long to sand large surfaces with a more consistent finish/flatness than smaller sanding blocks. They have two handles, so you can apply more pressure to remove more material.

Style E—Style E blocks are extra long to sand large surfaces with a more consistent finish/flatness than smaller sanding blocks. They have a grip along the entire length. Sand in any direction with one or both hands.

Soft—Use soft blocks on contoured surfaces.

Hard—Use hard blocks on flat surfaces.

Cordless Detail Sheet Sanders

Fit these sanders into tight spaces for detail work where you don’t have access to air or electric power. The pentagon-shaped sheets have a pointed tip to reach corners and flat sides for sanding along edges. These sanders are lightweight and move in small circles with less vibration than random orbital sanders for a lighter sand, even on delicate parts. To create this consistent finish, the wide rotating drum and conveyor keep your material in steady contact with the abrasive. The drum is made of aluminum to prevent heat from building up and wearing down the sandpaper or burning your panels. Easy to adjust, all it takes is a turn of the dial to align the drum and conveyor. These sanders have a port to connect to a dust collector or vacuum system to keep your workspace clean and reduce clogs. Sanding sheets are sold separately.

These sanders are open on one end to make room for your workpiece to hang out when you’re sanding a piece that’s wider than the drum length. Maximum workpiece width assumes you’ll flip your workpiece around to take two passes through these sanders.

10" Drum Length—Sanders with a 10" drum are sized to fit comfortably on your workbench.

19" Drum Length—Sanders with a 19" drum come with a stand. They automatically adjust the conveyor speed based on the weight of your workpiece to prevent burning or gouging the surface. This also helps you create a consistent finish if your workpiece has varying densities. They automatically tension the sanding sheet as you wrap it around the drum and help you make sure the sheet overlaps correctly. A lock holds the drum at the height you’ve set.

Often used to smooth drywall and floors before painting or finishing, these help you extend your reach while sanding. They’re lightweight enough to be held overhead for sanding ceilings or high walls. The rectangular shape fits easily into corners. Clip the sanding sheets (sold separately) around the base of the sander to attach.

Dust-Collecting Sanders—Dust-collecting sanders have a universal hose adapter to connect to your wet or dry vacuum system. Use the extendable pole to change their length for comfort and efficiency.
