Sand curves and corners with comfort and control. More flexible than blocks, these sponges squeeze into tight spots and reduce hand fatigue. They have one grit on the top and one side, and a second grit on the bottom and opposite side. This lets you smooth rough areas or finish surfaces without switching tools.
Aluminum Oxide Abrasive—The most versatile and affordable abrasive we offer is a good choice for most sanding jobs.
Flat—The standard shape for general purpose sanding.
Angled—Angled ends reach into corners and crevices where sponges with flat ends might miss.
Arrow—These easy-to-hold sponges have abrasive on both sides of the arrow-shaped end, so they're good for sanding along corners.
Grit—The lower the grit number, the rougher the finish. The higher the grit number, the finer the finish.

Sanding Sponges for Soft Metals, Plastic, and Rubber

Image of Product. Front orientation. Sandpaper. Sanding Sponges for Soft Metals, Plastic, and Rubber.
The abrasive on these flexible sponges resists buildup from sanding soft metals and nonmetals. Sponges conform to rounded edges and curves and squeeze into tight spots. They have abrasive on their top and bottom. If sponges do become clogged, you can rinse and reuse them.
Silicon Carbide Abrasive—Super sharp to cut quickly under light pressure. Silicon carbide is hard but brittle, so it tends to wear out sooner than other abrasives.
Grit—The lower the grit number, the rougher the finish. The higher the grit number, the finer the finish.

Prevent debris and heat from building up while sanding curves and complex shapes. A coating or channels keep material from accumulating, so these sponges produce smoother results. They’re flexible to reach into tight spots and offer the comfort and control of a sanding block. Sponges have abrasive on all four sides.
Aluminum Oxide Abrasive—The most versatile and affordable abrasive we offer is a good choice for most sanding jobs.
Ceramic Alumina Abrasive—The sharp edges cut quickly for efficient material removal.
Style A—The standard style with a slick coating.
Style B—With thicker layers of abrasive, these sponges remove material quicker than Style C. However, they have fewer channels, so they can't clear away as much dust.
Style C—A good option for surfaces that generate lots of dust, these sponges have more cleaning channels than Style B.
Grit—The lower the grit number, the rougher the finish. The higher the grit number, the finer the finish.
