Sanding Bricks for Masonry, Ceramics, and Composites

Aggressively remove material from hard, non-metallic surfaces such as ceramics, brick, stone, concrete, glass, and composites like carbon fiber and fiberglass. Harder than aluminum oxide, silicon carbide cuts effectively on brittle and abrasive materials where softer abrasives wear down quickly. The coarse 24 grit cuts fast for rough shaping, stock removal, and surface preparation.

The abrasive in these blocks wears evenly to maintain a flat surface. They can be used to remove burrs from metal die fixtures and machine parts or to clean magnetic chucks.

    Deburring Pads and Bricks

Debur in a flash—these pads and bricks quickly sand down burs on large flat surfaces and sharp edges. Also known as unitized blocks, they’re made by compressing multiple 3M Scotch-Brite pads together. This means they’re firm enough to nick off burs but cushioned enough to prevent gouges. The nylon mesh breaks down as you debur to expose fresh abrasive for a consistent finish. This material holds its shape, so you can cut these pads to fit specific workpieces. You can also form them into mounted points and bond them to tools. While quicker to use than deburring scrapers, they do not create as precise a cut.
