    High-Angular-Misalignment Flex Disc Couplings

Image of System. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Flexible Shaft Couplings. High-Angular-Misalignment Flex Disc Couplings.
With a flexible center disc, these couplings handle high misalignment in conveyor rollers, printing machines, and other assemblies that tilt or flex. They also transmit torque fully between shafts (zero backlash). The plastic disc prevents metal-to-metal contact between hubs, so they don't require lubrication. Also known as Schmidt couplings. For a complete coupling, select two hubs and one flex disc. Choose components of the same trade size to ensure they'll fit together.
Hubs for a 1/2" shaft diameter and above have a keyway. Hubs for metric sizes do not have a keyway—with the exception of hubs for 10mm and 15mm shaft diameters, which do have a keyway.

The metal body mounts onto shafts to transmit torque from one shaft to the other through the flexible center.
    Aluminum—Lightweight and corrosion resistant.
Clamp-On Shaft Mount—Grip shafts evenly without marring them and hold tighter than set screws. Tighten the clamping screws to secure.

Insert the pins of the hubs into the small holes on the disc to lock the hubs in place. Also known as frogs.
Acetal—Provide a balance of stiffness and flexibility while withstanding high torque. The best plastic discs for damp and wet environments, these won't swell or lose their strength if exposed to moisture.

Cleaned and Bagged Slotted Disc Couplings

Prevent contamination in electronics plants and other extra-clean environments. These couplings are cleaned, assembled, and individually bagged in a clean room. The smooth plastic center won't outgas much and won't collect bacteria, dirt, or dust.
Also known as Oldham couplings, these connect shafts that are in parallel misalignment. The center disc allows the shafts and hubs to slide independently, unlike couplings with centers that flex to compensate for misalignment. No lubrication required.

With two perpendicular slots (one on each side), these discs allow shafts to slide, adjusting for parallel misalignment.
Aluminum Hub with PEEK Disc—Both hubs and the disc are lightweight and corrosion resistant.

    High-Parallel-Misalignment Slotted Disc Couplings

Image of System. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Flexible Shaft Couplings. High-Parallel-Misalignment Slotted Disc Couplings.
Unlike couplings that flex to handle offset shafts, these have a slotted center disc that allows shafts to slide independently to compensate for parallel misalignment. The plastic center disc also helps transmit torque while preventing metal-to-metal contact between hubs, so there's no lubrication required. Also known as Oldham couplings. For a complete coupling, select two hubs and one disc. Choose components of the same trade size to ensure they'll fit together.

Acetal—Provide a balance of stiffness and flexibility while withstanding high torque. The best plastic discs for damp and wet environments, these won't swell or lose their strength if exposed to moisture.
Nylon—Keep these wear-resistant discs dry, since they'll swell and weaken if exposed to moisture.
PEEK—Stronger, stiffer, and more wear resistant than nylon and acetal discs.
