    A collar butts up against your surface to stop Phillips screws from sinking too deep. Use these bits on wood, fiberboard, drywall, and other soft materials that may crack if you overdrive the fastener.
    Hex Shank—Also known as insert bits, these snap into hand tools. If you want to use them with power tools, attach a bit adapter (not included).
    Quick-Change Hex Shank—Lock these bits directly into power tools. They won't wobble as much as bits paired with an adapter, so they are the best choice for high-precision tasks.
    Steel—Best for dry environments, since moisture will cause these bits to rust.
