They make sure your line doesn’t start up and cause injuries while repairs are happening downstream.     Cable lockouts are quick to install, so they’re ideal for temporary use. Just place the body over your valve stem and secure by wrapping the cable around your pipe. You can continue pulling the cable tighter after locking. Made of plastic-coated steel, the cable is durable and won’t scuff your pipe. If the body doesn’t fit your stem, use the included rubber inserts to change the diameter. These lockouts have holes for up to 4 padlocks, so each person performing repairs can add their own lock to ensure safety. To add even more padlocks, put a hasp in the largest hole.

    More secure than standard lockout cables, these lockouts clamp to a surface nearby, giving you a fixed point to pull the cable tight. Since the body of the lockout doesn’t hang freely like on standard lockout cables, their cable stays taut. After locking out, you can still tighten these cables, but they won’t loosen until you remove all your padlocks and open them up. Clamp them onto anything that fits between their jaws before weaving the cable around the item you’re locking out. They’ll even secure difficult-to-lock devices, such as ball and butterfly valve handles.
    With holes for multiple padlocks, each person can add their own as they start a job. Use a hasp in the bottom hole to add more padlocks for larger groups. These cables help you comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 requirements for locking out controls to prevent injuries. The cable is plastic coated, so it doesn’t scuff up surfaces.
    Swap between the included steel and rubber jaws to fit your application. The steel jaws are more durable and will last longer. The rubber jaws are a better choice for delicate surfaces because they won’t leave scratches.

    Lockout Cable

    Block access to your entire panel during maintenance and repairs. With these lockouts, you don’t have to spend time locking out individual breakers or fussing with traditional lockout cables. They’re sized to fit common electrical panel widths and adjust for a tight fit to keep people from opening the door. Add a padlock to lock them out and prevent accidental startups during repairs. These lockouts help you comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147, which requires electrical circuits to be locked out for safety.
    Lockout Cable—Cable lockouts are more compact than cover lockouts for easy storage. Hook the cable end attachment onto your panel or under the head of an exposed screw—the other end attaches to the opposite side of your panel. Pull the cable tight. You can still tighten the cable further after locking, but it won’t loosen until you remove the padlocks. These lockouts have holes for multiple padlocks and tags, so the team can add their own as they start a job. You won’t be able to open these lockouts until all of the padlocks are removed. To add even more padlocks, use a hasp. The cable on these lockouts is coated in plastic, so it won’t scuff up your panel.

    Secure a single breaker switch with multiple padlocks to keep electricity safely off until the entire team is finished with a maintenance task. The key that unlocks these lockouts is at the end of a 2-ft. cable—wind it through the lock mount and secure by adding a padlock for each person working. The key is released only when all padlocks are removed.
    Less disruptive than locking access to an entire panel, these lockouts isolate a single circuit. Because they're small and don't hold the padlocks, you'll still have room in your breaker box to flip adjacent switches on and off or close the panel door. These lockouts help your organization comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147, which requires electrical circuits to be locked out during maintenance to prevent injuries.
    Clamp On—Clamp-on lockouts can be installed on switches with or without through holes, since they clamp onto the surface of the switch.
    Pin In—Pin-in lockouts have two pins that snap into a switch’s through holes. Press a button on the end to open the pins and slide them over a switch.

    Self-Retracting Lockout Cables

    They have a loop at the end of the cable that hooks back onto the lock body. Rotate the body to lock the cable in place. Push the button to retract the cable and it will tighten around your equipment. When unlocked, retract the cable into the lock body for tangle-free storage.
    Nylon Cable—Nylon cables won’t conduct electricity, so you can use them on electrical lockouts without worrying about accidental shock. They won’t scratch nearby surfaces.

    Lock out most valves in your facility with just one device. These lockouts clamp onto a variety of valve handwheels and handles. They’re great for large levers, T-handles, wheels with odd shapes and sizes, and other handles that are hard to secure with specialized lockouts. However, they’re slower to install than specialized lockouts—you’ll have to configure different attachments depending on your handle type. These lockouts help you comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 requirements for the control of hazardous energy.
    To install, first turn your handle to the off position. After assembling your lockout with all necessary attachments, clamp the body to your handle and turn the lockout wheel to tighten. Add a padlock to prevent removal of the lockout.
    Each lockout comes with a blocking arm. Wedge the arm against a pipe or other surface in the direction the handle turns in—this will block its movement. If your handle turns in either direction, attach an additional blocking arm (sold separately).
    For valve handles that turn with a squeeze trigger, clamp the lockout body to the handle so it wedges between the handle and the trigger.
    For handwheels, clamp the lockout body to the edge of the wheel and run the included cable through the spokes and around a nearby pipe or surface. Then pull the cable through the lockout body for a tight hold.
    Nylon Cable—Nylon cable resists corrosion, so it’s good for use in damp areas or on wet or greasy pipes. It also resists many common chemicals. Even as it wears, it won’t scuff surfaces and stays nonconductive.
    Vinyl-Coated Metal Cable—Metal cable lasts longer than nylon cable. A vinyl coating protects it from rust and prevents it from scuffing surfaces.

    Lock out panel boxes, multiple gate valves, and oversized controls with a pinch. Weave the free end of the cable through the loop and into the lockout clamping hole. Pull the cable taught before giving the lockout a squeeze to keep the cable in place. Secure the lockout with a padlock and lockout tag during maintenance and repair. With multiple padlock holes, each person can attach a padlock before starting their work. They help you comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 requirements for the control of power sources and supply lines to prevent injuries. To prevent damaging nearby surfaces, they’re coated in plastic.

    Tighten these cables hassle-free—unlike pinch-point cables, you can pull them tighter even after they’re locked out. They won’t loosen until you remove all your padlocks and open them up. Weave them through and around equipment such as panel boxes, flanges, and multiple gate valves. All are coated in plastic so they don’t scuff up surfaces. They have multiple holes for multiple padlocks, so each person can add their own as they start a job. The holes are large enough to fit lockout hasps, so you can add more padlocks for larger groups. These cables help you comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 safety procedures.
    TPU Plastic-Coated Nylon Cable—Nylon cables won’t conduct electricity, so you can use them on electrical lockouts without worrying about accidental shocks. They’re yellow for visibility.
    TPU Plastic-Coated Stainless Steel Cable and TPU Plastic-Coated Steel Cable—Steel and stainless steel cables are more durable than nylon cables.
    Style B—Style B have a warning label on one side to alert passersby to the maintenance. On the other side, they have a reusable write-on label for recording your name and department.
