Sense objects from farther away than with other proximity sensors that have the same diameter. Also known as inductive proximity sensors, they remotely sense metallic objects even if they’re obscured by water, oil, dirt, or a surface finish. Sensing distance is based on the type of material being sensed. The distance listed is for mild steel. They’re often used with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and produce PNP signal output. Some automatically sense whether PNP or NPN signal output is needed.
Also available: If you don’t see the sensor you need, please select 1429T999 and specify manufacturer and manufacturer part number.
Projecting Mount—Projecting sensors, also known as non-embeddable or unshielded sensors, must be mounted with the area around the sensor face free of metal. They have a longer sensing distance than flush sensors with the same diameter.
Plug In—Sensors with a 4-pole M12 plug connect to cables with a socket (sold separately), allowing you to quickly connect and disconnect the sensor.
Enclosure Rating—All sensors are rated IP69K for protection from high-temperature, high-pressure washdowns. Some are also rated NEMA 6P, 13, and IP67 for protection from corrosion, oil/coolant spraying, and temporary submersion.
