Made from the most common stainless steel, these 304 stainless steel rods are used to create corrosion-resistant parts for a wide range of applications. Machine them into anything from shafts on chemical mixers to flanges on beverage lines. They maintain their corrosion resistance in temperatures up to 1500° F.

One of the most corrosion-resistant types of stainless steel, 316 stands up to the harshest chemicals, including bleach, chlorine, and phosphoric acid. It's a step up from 304, which has similar strength and temperature performance. Use it in a variety of marine and chemical-processing applications. It maintains its corrosion resistance in temperatures up to 1500° F.

Multiple thread channels (also known as thread starts) create faster linear travel than ball screws with a single thread start. Suitable for use in harsh environments, these ball screws and nuts are made of stainless steel. Internal ball bearings provide smooth low-friction travel in applications that require high speeds, accurate positioning, and repeatable movement. To ensure compatibility, select components that have the same thread size. Ball nuts are furnished with a tube to keep ball bearings in place. Do not remove the tube until you are ready to install the nuts onto the screws.

The high carbon content in this 440C stainless steel helps it withstand abrasion and wear better than any other stainless steel. Like tool steel, it can be heat treated to become extremely hard. It also maintains its corrosion resistance in temperatures up to 800° F. However, it’s more likely to break than bend from impacts. It’s often used to make bearings and valves.

Made from the most common PH stainless steel, these 17-4 PH rods combine the strength of 400 series stainless steel with the corrosion resistance of 300 series. Ideal for the most demanding applications, they’re often used to create fasteners, pipe fittings, and other cylindrical parts. They maintain their corrosion resistance in temperatures as hot as 1100° F. Also known as 630 stainless steel.

Widely used for fabricating fittings and fasteners, 303 stainless steel machines quickly without sticking to cutting tools. It maintains its corrosion resistance in temperatures up to 1500° F.

With the highest lead content, 360 is the easiest brass alloy to machine. Known as free-machining and free-cutting brass, it handles high-speed drilling, milling, and tapping with minimal wear on your tools. You’ll often see it made into gears, pinions, and lock components.
