Oversized Washers
Compared to our general purpose washers, these have exaggerated diameters and/or thicknesses for covering oversized holes or for use as spacers and levelers.
316 stainless steel washers have excellent resistance to chemicals and salt water. They may be mildly magnetic.
18-8 stainless steel and 17-4 PH stainless steel washers have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. Black-oxide 18-8 stainless steel washers have a matte-black finish.
Black-oxide steel washers have mild corrosion resistance in dry environments.
Brass washers are corrosion resistant in wet environments, nonmagnetic, and electrically conductive.

Mil. Spec. Washers
Choose these washers for their adherence to strict military standards for material and construction.
18-8 stainless steel and 321 stainless steel washers have excellent corrosion resistance in most environments. They may be mildly magnetic. Passivated 18-8 stainless steel washers have added protection against oxidation and corrosion. Black-oxide 18-8 stainless steel washers have a matte-black finish.
Cadmium- and zinc yellow-chromate plated steel washers are corrosion resistant in wet environments.
Copper and brass washers are corrosion resistant in wet environments, nonmagnetic, and electrically conductive. Nickel copper washers (also known as Monel) are more corrosion resistant than stainless steel. They have excellent resistance to salt water and some acids.

ASME Washers
Also known as Type B washers.
Narrow washers have a smaller OD than regular and wide washers for applications where SAE and USS washers won’t fit. Regular washers have a larger OD than SAE washers. They’re generally as large as or larger than USS washers. Wide washers spread your fastener’s load over a larger area than other washers to cover oversized holes and limit damage to soft material. They have a larger OD than both SAE and USS washers.
316 stainless steel washers have excellent resistance to chemicals and salt water. They may be mildly magnetic.
18-8 stainless steel washers have excellent corrosion resistance in most environments. They may be mildly magnetic.
Zinc- and zinc yellow-chromate plated steel washers are corrosion resistant in wet environments.

Water- and Steam-Resistant Plastic Washers
Low moisture absorption and good heat resistance make these washers suitable for wet and harsh environments. All are good electrical insulators.
Fiberglass washers are stronger than Delrin® acetal plastic washers and have excellent resistance to salt water. Color ranges from light green to light tan.
Delrin® acetal plastic washers combine a slippery, wear-resistant surface with good strength and rigidity.

Split Lock Washers
As a screw is tightened, these washers flatten to add tension to the joint, counteracting fatigue around the joint from small amounts of vibration. This makes them a common choice to prevent fasteners from loosening. However, they resist the least amount of vibration compared to other locking washers.
These washers are compatible with fasteners that have right-hand threads to prevent loosening. The uneven split ends bite into fasteners for a tight grip, but they won’t work with hardened surfaces. These washers hold better than curved or wave washers. They are not reusable after tightening.
18-8 stainless steel washers have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic.
