Sterile Reagent Reservoirs

To make sure these reservoirs arrive sterile, they've been irradiated, individually bagged, and marked with a lot number. Use them to hold reagents and samples for easy access during pipetting. A V-shaped bottom helps you collect samples as your liquid starts to run low. All have molded graduation marks, so you can gauge how much liquid is inside. There’s a pour spout on each corner for discarding excess liquid. These reservoirs cannot be autoclaved or reused.

Polyethylene and Polypropylene—Plastic bowls are good for general purpose sampling.

Fixed Bowl—Dippers with a fixed bowl are safe for use with food—they don’t have pins or other small parts that might break off. They’re easier to pour and collect samples with than dippers with a swivel bowl because you have control over how the bowl moves.

Swivel Bowl—Dippers with a swivel bowl let you sample from almost any angle. The bowl stays upright even when you move the handle, so there’s little risk of spilling when you move samples. However, you need two hands to empty them.

Graduations—Dippers with graduations help you accurately measure samples.

Steel—Steel ladles are heavy duty and are often used in foundries. They're plain, unfinished steel.

304 Stainless Steel—304 stainless steel ladles resist corrosion better than plain steel. They have a smooth finish that helps prevent material from sticking. Plus, they’re easy to clean and sanitize.

Horizontal Handle—Ladles with a horizontal handle extend straight from the bowl, so they’re ideal for filling from taps, poured metal, and other running liquid sources.

Vertical Handle—Ladles with a vertical handle are perpendicular to the bowl. They’re the best choice for dipping into large vats and containers but are harder to pour from.
