    High-Torque Split-Tapered Bushing-Bore Sprockets

Image of Product. Front orientation. Drive Sprockets. High-Torque Split-Tapered Bushing-Bore Sprockets, For Single Strand.

    For Single Strand

Maximize power transfer in high-torque applications. Compatible split-tapered bushings have a tapered barrel that’s split on both sides for a tighter grip than quick-disconnect or taper-lock bushings. Use these sprockets to quickly swap or service parts—no press-fitting or special tools required. Mount a bushing (sold separately) on your shaft, slide the sprocket over it, and tighten the included set screws. As you tighten, the bushing grips the shaft and pulls it into your sprocket for a secure hold.
Sprocket teeth mesh with your roller chain to smoothly transmit power. These U.S.-made sprockets have machined teeth for a more precise fit than flame-cut or punched teeth, allowing them to glide in and out of the chain to reduce wear and extend chain life.
Steel—Steel is strong, but best for dry environments since moisture will cause it to rust.

The tapered barrel on these bushings is split on both sides, allowing them to contract more tightly around the shaft than quick-disconnect and taper-lock bushings. They're for use with split-tapered sprockets and pulleys of the same bushing trade number. As you tighten the included screws, the bushing grips the shaft and pulls it into the sprocket or pulley.
304 Stainless Steel—304 stainless steel bushings are often used in food-processing plants and other frequently-cleaned areas because washdowns and humidity won’t corrode them. They have a pilot hole instead of a finished keyway, so you can bore them to the exact dimensions of your shaft.
Machine Key—Bushings with a machine key fit into a matching keyway on a sprocket or pulley for high-torque applications.

Curved teeth engage with the matching belt better than standard trapezoidal teeth, so these pulleys transmit about twice the torque. All are compatible with Gates PowerGrip HTD, Omega HP, and Carlisle RPP series.
Steel and Iron—Strong but best for dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.
Corrosion-Resistant Stainless Steel—Stands up to wet environments and mild chemicals, such as the ammonia in cleaning solutions.
Bushing Bore—Quickly swap or service parts in tight spaces—no press-fitting or special tools required. Mount a bushing (sold separately) on your shaft and slide the pulley over it. As you tighten the included set screws, the bushing grips the shaft and draws it into the pulley, creating a final hold that is more secure than with set screws alone.

Crank up the power and turn down the noise. With curved teeth arranged in a tire-track pattern, these pulleys fit snugly into matching belts. The flush fit reduces play (backlash) for more precise movement and up to 25% less operating noise. Compared to pulleys with trapezoidal teeth, they deliver higher torque with less vibration and smoother performance.
