Prime these guns faster than standard grease guns and use them with just one hand. Instead of the spring, rod, and follower plate standard grease guns use, these guns use vacuum pressure, so they’re ready to go more quickly. A cap seals the bottom of the gun to create vacuum pressure and to prevent grease from leaking and making the gun slippery. Pistol-grip guns are useful for hard-to-reach lubrication points because they leave you with a hand free to attach the tip to a fitting. But compared to lever-grip guns, they have about half the output per stroke.

These guns aren't compatible with cardboard grease cartridges because they use vacuum pressure.
