    Cut-to-Length Compression Springs

Image of Product. Side1 orientation. Compression Springs. Cut-to-Length Compression Springs.
Image of Attribute. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Cut-to-Length Compression Springs.
Always be ready for the perfect fit. These springs are extra long to cut a custom length whenever you need it. Their open ends make cutting easier but prevent them from standing on their own. You’ll need to install them in a hole or over a shaft, or grind the ends flat.
Spring Steel—Strong and resilient, but best suited for dry environments since moisture will cause these springs to rust.
Spring Rate—To determine the spring rate of a cut spring, first multiply the spring rate given by the spring's original length, then divide the result by the cut length (in inches).

    Cut-to-Length Die Springs

Keep these extra-long springs on hand, so you can cut the right length whenever you need it. Install these springs in your die press for small-batch jobs. Made of tempered spring steel, these springs stay strong and resilient in dry environments. Trim your spring, then grind the open ends flat to balance your load.
Spring Rate—To determine the spring rate of a cut spring, first multiply the spring rate given by the spring's original length, then divide the result by the cut length (in inches).

    Overhead Door Spring Winding Rods

Image of ProductInUse. Front orientation. Contains Annotated. Overhead Door Spring Winding Rods.
Image of Product. Front orientation. Overhead Door Spring Winding Rods.
Keep your overhead door balanced on both tracks for smooth, even opening and closing. These winding rods help you safely increase and decrease the tension on the springs that hold the door. Their ends are machined to fit snugly into the springs' tensioning holes, giving you good control and preventing these rods from slipping out as you tension. Use these rods in pairs. For better leverage and easier winding, choose longer rods.

Also known as blue-tempered steel, this 1095 spring steel has a higher carbon content than 1075 spring steel for better wear resistance. It’s often used for spring clips, washers, and other parts that are under continual stress. These sheets and strips are hardened for increased abrasion and impact resistance.

    High-Strength 1075 Spring Steel Strips

Image of Product. Front orientation. Steel. High-Strength 1075 Spring Steel Strips.
Create high-strength parts that compress and extend without losing shape, such as springs, shims, and clips. Also known as scaleless steel, this 1075 spring steel comes hardened for extra wear and fatigue resistance. However, you’ll need to cut it to shape since it’s too hard to form. For more complex shaping, consider annealed 1075 spring steel sheets, or 1050 for the tightest bends.
