    Dial Flatness Gauges

Slide these gauges across surface plates, lapping plates, and other precision surfaces and a variance indicator (required but not included with all gauges) helps you determine if their flatness is within tolerance. The variance indicator displays the amount of deviation as you move the flatness gauge.

    Mitutoyo Squareness Gauges

Image of Product. Front orientation. Squareness Gauges. Mitutoyo Squareness Gauges.
Ensure parts are perfectly straight and square—these gauges detect surface deviations so small the human eye can’t see them. As you slide the lever on these gauges up and down, a dial test indicator moves along the vertical surface of your workpiece, measuring how straight and square it is. Checking for slight angles on machined parts or frames verifies they will align properly and function correctly. You can adjust the squareness of the gauges to fine-tune for differences in temperature and humidity and to maintain precision over years of use. Measure an object for height with the scale along the side of the gauge. The housing is cast iron, so the gauges are stable and stand up to frequent use.

    Electronic Flatness Gauges

Image of Product. Front orientation. Flatness Gauges. Electronic Flatness Gauges.
Determine whether a surface’s flatness is within tolerance from an easy-to-read LCD screen. As you slide these gauges across surface plates, lapping plates, and other surfaces, they’ll quickly detect and measure any deviations. They come with a calibration certificate traceable to NIST that states they’ve passed a test for accuracy. Since they have zero-position memory, also known as absolute (ABS) positioning, they’ll retain their measuring position when they’re turned off. A zero-set button allows you to start measuring at any point.
