The drill bits have a built-in pilot with a stepped tip that centers the bit, prevents slipping, and drills with one third the pressure of standard bits. Your wrench’s rapid hammering keeps the taps moving forward for smooth, continuous cutting. Those rapid blows also help break and clear chips as you cut, so you don’t need to pause and reverse, even in large holes and tough materials. You’ll need a VersaDrive chuck (sold separately) to install the bits and taps into your impact wrench. You can also get chucks for impact drivers and magnetic-base drills (both sold separately). For jobs that don’t require the torque of an impact tool, you can fit these drill bits and taps directly into a _1/2" chuck on a standard power drill.
