Install unthreaded thermocouple and RTD probes into tanks, pipe fittings, and thermowells at a precise depth. These fittings add threads to your probe and use compression to hold the probe in place. This compression is what allows you to adjust the probe's insertion depth. Once you have the probe at your desired depth, tighten the nut, and the sleeve (ferrule) grips the sheath, creating a strong seal. Unlike other compression fittings, these fittings don’t crimp the sheath. That means you can reposition them by simply loosening the nut.
Brass—Brass fittings resist corrosion in damp environments, but will tarnish if exposed to salt or chemicals in water or in the air.
Stainless Steel—Stainless steel fittings resist corrosion from wet environments, salt water, and harsh chemicals.

    Spring-Loaded Thermocouple and RTD Fittings

Add threads to unthreaded probes so they can be installed into thermowells, protection tubes, and housings. These fittings have a spring inside that pushes the probe forward, ensuring the tip makes proper contact with the surface being measured for accurate temperature measurement.
To install, slide the fitting over your probe. The bottom threads into your process and the top can be threaded to a connection head. Note that the bottom is not liquid tight, so these fittings should not be used to thread a probe directly into fluids. To measure the temperature of fluids, first install a thermowell into your process, then use these fittings to thread the probe into the thermowell.
Fluoroelastomer O-Ring—Fittings with a fluoroelastomer O-ring prevent splashing liquid and moisture from getting inside your connection head. However, the seal can't stand up to pressurized liquids and submersion.
