High-Temperature Self-Fusing Silicone Electrical Tape


Standard Profile	Tapered Profile

Create long-lasting seals around electrical connections, even in hot, cold, or wet conditions. Made of silicone, this tape stands up to chemicals, temperature changes, and UV rays, making it a good choice for insulating wiring and components in outdoor and other harsh environments. It is self-fusing, so it sticks to itself as you layer it for a secure seal that keeps moisture out. Also known as cold-shrink tape.

Tapered Profile—Thickest in the middle and thinner at the edges. This shape ensures that when you apply partially overlapping layers, the thickness remains uniform for a smooth, even surface and consistent dielectric strength. The center guide eliminates guesswork to help you precisely align each wrap.

ASTM D495—Rated to protect against electrical arcs, which cause surface damage that can lead to short circuits or fires.

Self-Fusing Rubber Sealing Tape

Bonds to itself for a permanent, watertight seal. This tape has no adhesive, so it won't dry out and crack, which can cause standard tape to fail over time. The rubber backing molds to irregular surfaces and withstands demanding conditions, making this tape a good choice for patching and sealing anything from roofs to pipes.

Butyl Rubber—Creates an airtight, impermeable seal. It also stretches and conforms better than EPDM rubber tape.

EPDM Rubber—A good choice for outdoor applications, it withstands sunlight, ozone, and weathering.

Polyolefin/Rubber—Sticks to most surfaces, including vinyl, fiberglass, PVC, wood, tile, and even damp nonporous surfaces.

Silicone Rubber—Your best choice to repair pipe, this tape withstands harsh chemicals and the widest temperature range. However, it breaks down when exposed to oil, grease, or fuel.

Self-Fusing Mastic Electrical Tape

Seal off electrical splices. This tape is thick and molds tightly around connections, filling in gaps and sealing out moisture. Plus, mastic rubber is self-healing—if it gets nicked, it settles to fill the gash and maintain the seal.

Apply an outer layer of overwrapping tape (sold separately) for a stronger, weather-resistant seal and extra electrical insulation.

No Facing—Conforms better than tape with a facing, so it seals around irregular shapes. We recommend you wrap this tape with overwrapping tape (sold separately) to protect the seal.

EPM Rubber Facing—A thin layer of EPM adds excellent electrical insulation without adding bulk, even when wrapped multiple times. However, it’s less abrasion resistant than vinyl facing.

Vinyl Plastic Facing—Seal your connection in a single step. A vinyl layer is already applied to the mastic for built-in abrasion and weather resistance.

Putty—Easy to tear and shape by hand, just like clay. Push it into gaps and seams to pad and build coverage.
