    Nylon-Insert Wing Nuts

    The strongest hold of all our thumb nuts. The wings give you extra leverage for a tight fit, while a nylon insert grips the screw to prevent loosening from vibration. However, the insert may become brittle if exposed to high temperatures. You can reuse these nuts a handful of times, but their holding power will decrease with each use.

    Wing Nut Impact Sockets

    The slotted shape of these sockets fits over wing nuts to tighten and loosen them with more force than you can by hand. These sockets are sturdier and have more give than manual-drive sockets, so they'll withstand the high torque and force of impact tools. They require a locking retainer. Use with an impact wrench that has a pin-style socket retainer, or use a socket retaining ring with tools that have a hole- or hole-and-ring style socket retainer.
