Low-Voltage Cable

- Use For: Appliances, Vehicles
- Flexible
- Temperature Range: -40° to 175° F
- Insulation: PVC Plastic
Also known as GPT cable, this cable is often used in low-voltage applications such as battery and vehicle wiring and radios. It has one red wire and one black wire to easily identify polarity. The wires can be pulled apart for installation.
High-Temperature Cable
The insulation on this cable withstands high-heat applications such as ovens and furnaces. The wires are silver or nickel plated for corrosion resistance.
Shielded cable has a layer of braid that blocks signal interference from nearby equipment and devices. It has PTFE outer and inner insulation that resists chemicals, oil, abrasion, and moisture.

- Use For: Ovens and Furnaces, Interference Shielding
- Flexible
- Temperature Range: -65° to 390° F
- Insulation: PTFE Plastic
Abrasion-Resistant Cable

- Use For:
Unshielded: Motors, Power Supply
Shielded: Motors, Power Supply, Interference Shielding - Flexible
- Temperature Range: -20° to 190° F
- Insulation:
Outer: Polyurethane Rubber
Inner: PVC Plastic
A thick insulation resists cuts and abrasion, so this cable can be pulled over rough surfaces without damaging the wires inside. Made of polyurethane rubber, the insulation also resists chemicals, moisture, oil, solvents, and water. It’s flame rated VW-1 to meet requirements for preventing the spread of flames based on a timed test with vertically suspended material.
Use unshielded cable in applications where signal interference is not a concern.
High-Voltage Continuous-Flex Flat Cable

- Use For: Automation, Continuous Motion
- Continuous Flex
- Temperature Range: -85° to 325° F
- Insulation: Silicone Rubber
A thick outer layer of silicone rubber insulation protects this cable from high voltages while remaining ultra flexible. You'll often see this cable used in harsh environments with tight turns, from robotics and aerospace to oil rigging, because it won't break down from chemicals, oil, moisture, or UV light. It stands up to continuous motion without degrading data or signal transmission.
This cable meets UL 94 V-0 for flame retardance. If it is exposed to flames, it minimizes how much smoke and halogen it releases. It also meets clean room standards because it releases minimal particles into the air.
Bend radius is the point to which the cable will bend without being damaged. It is measured from the center of the bend to the edge of the cable. The smaller the measurement, the tighter the bend.

Communication and Security System Cable
Often used for intercoms, speakers, and security systems, this cable is designated as CM and CL2 or CMG, so the insulation is flame resistant and approved for in-wall installation in single-level facilities.
Shielded cable has a layer of foil that blocks signal interference from nearby equipment and devices. It has an uninsulated ground wire is not counted in the number of wires.

Coiled Communication Cable

- Use For: Buildings, Outdoors
- Flexibility: See Table
- Temperature Range: -40° to 140° F
- Insulation: Neoprene Rubber
After extending to full length to provide added reach, this cable retracts and self-coils for tangle-free storage. It's often used with microphones, headsets, and other types of low-circuit communication equipment.
Shielded cable has a copper spiral around its wires that blocks signal interference from nearby equipment and devices.

Continuous-Flex Data Communication Cable

- Use For: Automation, Continuous Motion, Data, Interference Shielding
- Continuous Flex
- Temperature Range:
PVC Plastic Insulation: 25° to 155° F
TPE Rubber Insulation: -30° to 210° F
Often used to send signal and data to order pickers and cranes, this cable withstands continuous motion applications without degrading data or signal transmission. In addition to a layer of braid shielding, it has twisted pairs of wires that cancel signal interference from multiple transmission lines. Suitable for clean rooms, it releases minimal particles into the air. It is CE marked as compliant with European health, safety, and environmental standards.
Cable with PVC insulation is for indoor use.
Cable with TPE rubber insulation is for outdoor use and resists coolant, oil, and UV light.

Industrial Communication-Standard Cable

- Use For:
Flexible: Data, Interference Shielding
Continuous Flex: Data, Interference Shielding, Automation, Continuous Motion - Insulation: See Table
Connect devices such as sensors, programmable logic controllers, and actuators to an automated network. Choose the communication standard that matches your existing network.
Flexible cable bends easily, but is not meant to be in constant motion. Use continuous-flex cable in automated applications that require continuous motion, such as robotics.
Choose cable with PVC plastic outer insulation for general purpose indoor applications. Its protective layer resists abrasion, though it contains halogen. It’s also less flexible than cable with TPE rubber insulation. Cable with TPE rubber outer insulation has a halogen-free protective layer that is more flexible and resists abrasion better than other materials. It also stands up to extreme temperatures and chemicals, making it good for use in harsh outdoor environments.
Double shielded cable has a layer of braid and foil shielding for better protection against signal interference than foil alone. Use it in environments with high signal distortion, such as near transformers, generators, and heavy duty motors.
Uninsulated ground wires are not counted in the number of wires.
Flame rated cable meets requirements for preventing the spread of flames based on a timed test. FT4 cable is mounted to a vertical tray during testing. VW-1 cable is suspended vertically during testing.
