    Shank

One bit, multiple fits. These turn both square and Phillips screws for flexible fastening options. If you need to apply a lot of torque, however, it's best to pair them with square/Phillips screws to avoid slipping and stripping the recess. Also known as Quadrex bits.
Hex Shank—Also known as insert bits, these snap into hand tools. If you want to use them with power tools, attach a bit adapter (not included).
Quick-Change Hex Shank—Lock these bits directly into power tools. They won't wobble as much as bits paired with an adapter, so they are the best choice for high-precision tasks.
Steel—Best for dry environments, since moisture will cause these bits to rust.
