Often used in radio transmission, network connections, and digital audio feed, this cable transmits audio, video, and data signals.
RG-6/U cable is good for medium to high frequency transmissions and is often used in satellite signal transmission. RG-58/U and RG-59/U cable are good for low frequency transmissions such as radio signals. RG-62A/U cable is often used in computer networks and electronics. RG-174/U cable has a small diameter, so it’s easy to coil.
Shielded cable has a layer of braid that blocks signal interference from nearby equipment and devices. Double shielded cable has a layer of braid and foil shielding for better protection against signal interference than foil alone. Use it in environments with high signal distortion, such as near transformers, generators, and heavy duty motors. Quad shielded cable has two layers of braid and two layers of foil for the most protection against signal interference and the clearest signal.
