Stools up to 23" high fit most comfortably when used with standard 30" high work surfaces, such as tables and desks. Stools that are 24"-27" high are sized for use at standing-height work surfaces that are 36" high, such as workbenches. Stools 28" and higher are meant to be used at extra-high counters that are approximately 40" high.
