Choose these stair treads for greater durability than metal plank grating stair treads. They have an open surface that prevents debris from accumulating. Nosing is textured for traction.

Powder-Coated Steel—Powder-coated steel treads are for use in dry, noncorrosive areas.

Galvanized Steel—Galvanized steel treads are more corrosion resistant than painted steel.

Aluminum—Aluminum treads are more corrosion resistant than galvanized steel. Plus, they're lightweight, nonsparking, and nonmagnetic.

304 Stainless Steel—Stainless steel treads have better corrosion resistance than steel or aluminum.

Ladder-Style Steps

Serrated Step

Perforated Step

Good for use as ladder rungs, cut these steps to size with a metal-cutting saw and weld them in place. For a clean weld, match the step material to the surface you are welding to. These steps must be welded at each end with welds capable of supporting the rated capacity. For those 5 ft. and longer, the maximum cut length is 24". Shorter lengths support higher capacities.

Note: Check local, state, and federal codes, including OSHA, for safe set up and operating practices.

Galvanized Steel—Galvanized steel steps require preparation before welding—grind off the coating from the part of the step you intend to weld. After welding, apply a cold galvanizing spray to the welds to protect against rust.

Stair Nosing

Style C

Screw nosing into place to protect the front portion of the stair and provide a slip-resistant surface. Construction adhesive (sold separately) is for use between nosing and the front edge of the stair to prevent cracks.

Style A—Style A are for use on wood or concrete stairs. For wood stairs, use #10 wood screws. For concrete stairs, use _3/16" diameter tapping screws. Style A have a front channel filled with grit and a rear abrasive strip for added traction.

Style B—Style B can be installed in fresh concrete as well as on existing concrete stairs. Use concrete screws for _1/4" diameter countersunk holes. Nosing has five channels filled with an abrasive grit compound for excellent traction and slip resistance.

Style C—Style C can be installed on wood or concrete stairs. Drill and screw in place using #10 stainless steel truss-head screws. Nosing has a grit coating for excellent traction in high-traffic areas.
