Tight-Hold Sockets for Tubular Light Bulbs

Image of Product. Front orientation. Light Sockets. Tight-Hold Sockets for Tubular Light Bulbs.
Lock bulbs in place to prevent vibration from shaking them loose. These sockets replace worn sockets in light fixtures. They work with tubular fluorescent and LED bulbs.
For Rapid-Start Ballasts—Sockets for rapid or preheat-start ballasts are also known as non-shunted.
For Instant-Start Ballasts—Sockets for instant-start ballasts are also known as shunted.

Replace your fluorescent bulbs or upgrade to LED. These light bulbs are the most common tubular bulbs for fixtures inside plants, warehouses, and offices. Select a light appearance to match your existing lighting. If you’re not sure what temperature you need, choose a bulb with more than one light appearance. You can adjust the temperature with a switch.
LED—LED bulbs last longer and are more efficient than fluorescent bulbs. You can choose bulbs that work with or without a ballast—some bulbs can do both.
Fluorescent—Fluorescent bulbs contain small amounts of mercury. For disposal information, visit www.epa.gov/cfl.
Ballast-Bypass LED—Ballast-bypass bulbs work with sockets that are wired directly to the power source, which cuts down on maintenance. If your fixture has a ballast, you’ll need to remove it.
Ballast Compatible LED— Ballast-compatible bulbs are a quick replacement for fluorescent bulbs, since they work with most instant-start electronic ballasts. Check if your ballast is compatible by selecting a part number and clicking product detail.
    Plastic Bulb—Plastic bulbs are shatterproof.
Plastic-Coated Glass Bulb—Plastic-coated glass bulbs are shatter resistant. If the glass breaks, the coating keeps shards from falling.
Cannot Be Sold To—Bulbs that cannot be sold to the listed areas do not meet local regulations for mercury content or energy efficiency.

Electronic Light Ballasts for Tubular Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Image of Product. Front orientation. Light Ballasts. Electronic Light Ballasts for Tubular Fluorescent Light Bulbs.
In addition to being more energy-efficient than magnetic ballasts, these electronic ballasts are lighter and quieter. Ballasts that can operate multiple bulbs may have more wires than you need. Cover unused wires with a wire nut.
Programmed Start Ballast—Programmed-start ballasts provide the longest bulb life, but they take longer than instant- and rapid-start ballasts to turn on. They are often used with motion-sensing light controls.

Disinfect air, water, and surfaces without chemical cleaners. These light bulbs use shortwave ultraviolet radiation, also called UV-C, to kill viruses and bacteria. They’re often used in surface cleaning lights, air purifiers, and water treatment systems.
Ultraviolet radiation can harm your skin and eyes. For safety, install these bulbs in fixtures with UV protection or wear UV-protective gear while using them.
Rated Life—The length of time these bulbs will effectively kill germs. Replace them after the listed period, even if they still light up.
Cannot Be Sold To—Bulbs cannot be sold to Canada due to import regulations. Those that cannot be sold to outside the United States are due to pesticide regulations.

These bulbs are small, but very bright, so they're often used in flashlights and optical instruments such as projectors and microscopes. Brightness is measured in lumens; the higher the lumens, the brighter the bulb.
LED—LED bulbs last longer and are more efficient than other technologies. They generate little heat and withstand vibration.
Halogen—Halogen bulbs are slightly more energy efficient than incandescent bulbs, but they generate more heat.
