Steel tweezers have excellent tip strength, durability, and hardness, but they can corrode over time and are magnetic.

300 series stainless steel tweezers have excellent corrosion resistance, but the tips are less durable than 400 series stainless steel. Commonly known as anti-magnetic tweezers, they are typically nonmagnetic but may become slightly magnetic with use.

400 series stainless steel tweezers have good corrosion resistance and harder, more durable tips than 300 series stainless steel, but aren’t quite as strong as steel. They are mildly magnetic.
